Greetings one and all,
For those unaware, OpenDMARC is a formal initiative of The Trusted Domain
Project (TDP), a non-profit California corporation. TDP is the owner of
record for all of the intellectual property of the projects it operates.
TDP has an Intellectual Property policy. You can view it here:
http://www.trusteddomain.org/TDP%20IPR%20Policy.pdf
In essence, it states that any contribution you make to OpenDMARC or any
other TDP initiative grants TDP the right to use your contribution. It's
necessary to have this policy published so that developers and
contributors are all on the same page with respect to how copyright and
licensing of your suggestions and patches, and any other contribution,
will be handled.
Please ensure you are familiar with this policy before submitting patches or
making suggestions. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them on the
list or in private email.
This is not being sent in response to a specific incident, but rather because
it is our policy to remind the community of this from time to time.
Thanks for your attention.
-MSK
