[ Thanks for your response Andreas. --S. ]
I'm Steve Jones and my day job is director of DMARC.org, which is part
of the Trusted Domain Project - the organization that released the
OpenDKIM and OpenDMARC milters.
I am not a spokesperson for TDP, but DMARC.org considers OpenDKIM and
OpenDMARC to be critical enablers for the widespread use of email
authentication. Therefore, I do have a keen interest in their continued
availability and well-being. Maintenance of these packages has been
achieved more or less on a volunteer basis to date, and unfortunately
the necessary time has exceeded available resources in the recent past.
I've been talking to various people at TDP and outside about how we can
address that and achieve a more consistent level of support.
Unfortunately I don't have anything I can share publicly at this time,
but rest assured we are working on it.
So yes, the patches you're asking about will be integrated into a new
release. However I don't have a schedule for when that's going to happen
right now.
If anybody depends on these milters and really wants to see those
releases happen ASAP, my personal suggestion (remember, not a
spokesperson!) is that you consider making a donation to TDP for that
purpose. There's a PayPal donation link on this page
[http://www.trusteddomain.org/sponsor.html] and small individual
contributions are welcome, as are more substantial sponsorships.
My profound thanks to Andreas and others for collecting and documenting
patches and workarounds in the meantime!
