The opendmarc daemon has always expected to see an SPF header with the
results of an SPF check (added by your host), added by a previously
executed SPF milter.  If for some reason you don't run an SPF milter,
then you can enable the SPF checking inside opendmarc and it will do
the SPF lookups itself instead of looking for a header.  I do not know
the full design goals.  I am not aware of any negatives to using it.

Having said that, I use an SPF milter.  It's one that I am familiar
with b/c I have used it for a long time.  I have not tested the new
SPF code in opendmarc at this juncture.  You can be an advance beta
tester, I'm sure Murray would appreciate more people out there
exercising the new code.
