Bryan is on vacation for a couple of weeks, but he sent me this 
information:

The SPF code is of his own making, and has been in use in an open source 
filter he's been using for several years.  What's now in opendmarc is a 
clone of that code.

Future enhancements will allow use of libspf2, detectable via autoconf, 
and will also allow use of libopendkim to do DKIM validation if the 
results are not provided by other filters.
